Sustainability Report
Artworks are committed to sustainability through their products, processes and supply chain. Recognition of the environmental challenges we face influences all levels of our work.
Our aim is to reduce our impact on the planet by using sustainable materials that stay out of landfill. We focus on using products made from recycled materials that can then be recycled in turn.
The Circular Economy
An economy that uses smart systems to restore and regenerate existing materials through its industrial manufacturing processes is what defines the Circular Economy. Alto panels embody this goal. By taking a waste product out of the human environment, they start by redirecting the journey away from landfill. What have been considered single-use materials for too long are now being regenerated through innovative manufacturing.
A genuine need in commercial interiors is met by repurposing plastic that would otherwise simply be thrown away. Plastic bottles take up to 500 years to decompose and before that stage can cause major damage to marine and other wildlife. The Alto manufacturing process avoids using environmentally damaging chemicals or high energy-consuming methods, to turn plastic bottles into a new material. By serving the people who pass through these spaces for years to come, Alto breathes new life into waste and provides a functional, sustainable design solution.
